Tales from my wardrobe…

OMG…in the middle of re-vamping and cleaning look what showed up!!😯

Bought in 2000, in a shop called JOY, in Brixton. I recall…I did not even bother trying it on…I just knew it would fit!πŸ˜„

1950’s magenta polka dot pink, fitted dress, stopping on the knee, with a can-can trim. Worn to two weddings (alas..it is not funeral wear..and I am still two weddings short. Thinking of the movie, Four Weddings and a Funeral😁)…and at the 2007 CARIFESTA finale….with some of the old dudes complimenting me on my back-in-times frock.πŸ˜„

I also wore it to the odd soiree always with a compliment of ‘nice vintage look’ Miss NinaπŸ‘‘πŸ’ƒ…of course the Frenchman thinks it too ‘kitsch’….I steups and tell him, it’s not as bad as Warhol’s Campbell Soup cans..but him with his ‘heavy’ arty sculptures etc says it is…and twists up his face. I am not going to lie…I really did πŸ’“ this dress…and I am still fond of it🎈…It makes me smile..πŸ˜„

Just thinking of the two weddings I wore it to.. πŸ˜„…and the memories..πŸ˜―πŸ˜…I must do a post on that…πŸ˜΅πŸ’ƒ

So today….I eased my way into the too snug dress and showed him…it wasn’t as bad as he thought…except I have to go (according to him), on a keep-fit regime in order to keep the clinched waist effect from ‘bussin’ out!😡

It is 17 years ago…I reminded him…so the fact that I can still zip the dress up is not to be dismissed lightly!😳 What do you all think? Pack it off to the Salvation Army..or keep it for one last foray…providing I get lucky and slim down my thick waistline?!😱😰
